Peru is home to one of the 10 most-forested area of any country in the world with more than half the country, approximately 260,000 square mile, is covered in trees. Making Peru one of the 10 most biodiverse countries in the world, with iconic species including the Jaguar, Black Spider Monkey, the Poison Dart Frog and so many more. With over 330,000 people who depend directly on the Peru's forests for their livelihoods, One Tree Planted has made it a priority to protect, restore and reforest Peruvian forests.
With the Amazon recently listed by WWF as a one of the most threatened areas to deforestation, specifically from small-scale agriculture, commercial mining and illegal logging, our tree plating projects are aimed at protecting Peru's beautifully diverse forests and additionally restore degraded land.
A personalized tree certificate (see gallery) to say thanks for your donation. We’ll also send you reports on our project in Peru, so you can track the impact your trees are having on the community and environment.
To maximize the impact of your donation, our partner will determine the most appropriate species of tree to plant.

Restore soil health
A big driver of deforestation in the Amazon is over-farming. By balancing sustainable agroforestry with native tree plantation, we can restore nutrients to the soil and prevent further degradation.
